Sweatshop
By BeefisSexy • Nov 11th, 2008 • Category: Branding & Visual IdentitySweatshop is the name of a monthly drum n’ bass event where both international and local drum n’ bass DJs gather for a night of mayhem in an underground club. Using a sewing machine as the main logo, the brand’s visual identity included a pair of scissors and perforated lines. These not only reflected the elements of a sweat shop, they also symbolized the characteristics of digital music where layers upon layers of sounds and music are cut and intricately “sewn” seamlessly into one and another.
To give each event it’s own unique flavour and look, all flyers use different fabric patterns printed on their backs.
For one particular night, small sewing kits were handed out as direct mail. The event information was printed on the bottom of these kits while the logo was juxtaposed in front.
